Scraping
Scraping, or Gua Sha, is an innovative method of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that effectively addresses soft tissue restrictions. Using specialized stainless steel tools, we can identify areas of scar tissue and adhesions. The scraping motion helps break down these restrictions, promoting blood flow and stimulating the healing process. This technique encourages the realignment of collagen fibers, enhancing tissue flexibility and strength while reducing inflammation. Typically performed with lubricant on the skin, scraping involves gliding the tools over the affected area with varying pressure depending on ones tolerance.
Similar to cupping, scraping brings blood to the surface of the skin which means after a treatment you may be left with red marks that look similar to a rash. The marks can last anywhere from 7-10 days.
